The Tashmoo skiff is an 18-foot fiberglass boat rooted in the working skiffs of Martha’s Vineyard. Its low hull profile, open layout, and distinctive sheerline give it the character of a practical working boat, while its proportions suit fishing, family days, yacht tender duty, and a relaxed lifestyle on the water. The design carries its heritage lightly. Its original lines remain easy to recognize, but the Tashmoo 18 is intended for life on the water today. Build slots are available for those who would like to make one their own.
The Tashmoo 18 is an 18-foot skiff, hand-laid in fiberglass and built to order from the original 1980s molds. Its 8 in. draft is a fixed part of the original design, although the boat was not conceived specifically as a shallow draft skiff. Its low working profile and proportions come from the original hull, while the restored molds provide the starting point for how each hull is built before finish and fit-out are chosen. The result is a precise continuation of an established working form.

The Tashmoo design began with a wooden lobster boat found around Martha’s Vineyard, whose working lines were translated into fiberglass. The skiff took its name from Lake Tashmoo and is now back in production from the original 1980s molds. These molds connect each current hull directly to that earlier design. As a heritage quality skiff, the boat carries its history in the hull itself, while the story behind the boats begins with those working lines and their return to production years later.
The Tashmoo 18 draws its presence from the hull itself. Its sheerline, tumblehome, and perfect proportions give the fiberglass skiff a distinctive profile against highly technical center consoles. The ideal low working stance and simple rigging add character without relying on decorative excess. The effect is restrained rather than sterile, with performance and personality coming from proportion instead of ornament. These details grow from the boat’s workboat ancestry and help explain where the design comes from, connecting the Tashmoo 18 to the practical lines that inspired it.

The Tashmoo 18 is eighteen feet, measured exactly at 18' 4", with a 6' 7" beam, 8 in. draft, and 20 gal. fuel capacity. This self bailing skiff is hand-laid in fiberglass from the original 1980s molds, restored and back in production.
